Any idea as to why I keep getting this message on a loop every 30 seconds or so?

Is means that your inverter does not respond to the Discovery command. Does this happen the whole day? There are users that need to wait for the next day before it starts working. For them the inverter needs to be offline with the raspberry connected. When the inverter wakes up in the morning with the rasperry connected everything started to work.
I don't have these issues, but it might be worth to try for you in this case.

Can you please increase the pollinterval to 5000. Might be that you request too often.

I've put it on 5000 poll interval, still stopped around 10:30 am.

What type of machines was it not working on and which did work if I may ask? Just to rule out my local problems on my RPi GW3000-NS inverter.

It didn't work on a z67 board. Got it working in a NUC with j5005. Haven't tried a rpi.

Having the same issue now. Connected Goodwe 5000DT (3 phase) with usb to raspberry pi 4 and discovery is timing out. Restarted the inverter but no luck. I'll keep the discovery going on until tomorrow, hopefully magically it will discover it when the sun comes up.
