We want this to be a welcoming space for anyone curious about hard mathematics — students, hobbyists, researchers, and the merely fascinated. Everyone is welcome to ask questions and propose ideas.
- Be respectful. Critique mathematics, not people. "This step is unjustified because…" is great; "you're an idiot" is not.
- Be honest. Don't overstate results. Clearly mark what is proven vs. conjectured vs. guessed.
- Be constructive. When you point out a flaw, explain it and, if you can, suggest a direction.
- Assume good faith. Most people submitting flawed ideas are sincere and learning. Meet them with patience.
- Harassment, insults, discrimination, or personal attacks.
- Bad-faith spam, plagiarism, or misrepresenting others' work as your own.
- Aggressively insisting a refuted argument is correct after clear explanation (repeatedly reopening closed threads).
Rejections and "this doesn't hold up" will always come with a reason and, where possible, a pointer to learn more. We close flawed proofs with kindness, never with mockery.
Maintainers may edit, lock, or remove contributions and comments that violate this code, and may block repeat offenders. Report issues to the repository maintainer.
