July 2026 update. A little over a month ago tracks began skipping without playback on my main spotify account when using android app with this module, but after switching to another account and using it for a few weeks, back on main account it's again working without issues. I'm using an older spotify app pre v9.1 and I don't update it. So I guess the module is not dead after all.

Alternatives

1. Spotify has a trial period during which there's no ads. It's easy to make new accounts with throwaway emails while playlists and other data can be moved easily via Trikatuka, also accessing the old account's playlists can be done by opening the link to the old account on the new account.
2. Monochrome and similar tidal streamers are pretty good when they work.
3. PipePipe and Muzza are great android apps for youtube streaming.
4. Gladix (Echo fork) and Stash. Use a backup Spotify account, heard Spotify bans them.
