Editor4J Update #4

Description

@shayanbaig771

Hello :)

I'd like to put down a status update of what's happening with Editor4J. To put it simply, the system complexity has increased to the point where one person realistically can't get much development done. If you'd like to contribute to Editor4J, feel free to open issues or submit pull requests. It's hard for me alone to work on it and it's getting a bit annoying. So, until there are enough resources to advance Editor4J development, I've decided to put this project in standby mode.

Effectively "standby" to me, means a few things:

  • No new major features
  • Incremental bugfixes (really small, easy things that got overlooked)

This doesn't mean I won't be doing anything with Editor4J. It still serves a realistic purpose. To make development tools easier to learn and use. However, I think it's better if I let this project go to standby for now.

If you'd like to build this project from source, it's just a Gradle project so you can use ./gradlew run (or the equivalent on your OS) to build and run it. Alternatively, just import it into IntelliJ IDEA, which is what I use. A formal release probably won't be made anytime soon so building from source is your best bet.

Editor4J is the only project I've stuck with for so long and worked hardest for. I'm always excited to push it's development forward should the opportunity arise.
