Devices running macOS 14 are unable to run parakeet-mlx, crashing specifically on the newResidencySetWithDescriptor API, which is only available in macOS 15.

A potential solution might be to downgrade MLX.

Otherwise, users will need to upgrade to macOS 15 or later.

Thank you for reporting! I think it might be more of an MLX issue rather than this implementation. Do you mind filing an issue in the MLX repository instead? This would help get the problem addressed at the framework level.

I've identified the cause of the problem; the pip-installed version of MLX is only compatible with macOS 15.

I think you can perhaps try setting MACOSX_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET or CMAKE_OSX_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET and building manually, or embed the minimum version target you're trying to support in the binary from pre-built MLX wheel for now. I'll try to build wheels for multiple minimum OS version like MLX does in next release, if that helps!

Thank you, I've identified the root cause of the problem. However, it's inconvenient to have to re-edit the operations every time I deploy. It would be much more convenient if this issue could be resolved directly when upgrading parakeet-mlx.
