URL change of the bolometric correction files

MIST launched version 2.5 in February 2026, which changes the URL of the old version of the bolometric correction files to https://mist.science/BC_tables/v1/. The _bc_url function of the mist_interpolator.py need to be updated or it will raise a URL error when we use the download_and_prepare function.

We also recommend an optional input in the download_and_prepare function to change the URL of the eep and bc files to local file path, so users can download the files faster using aria2 etc. and load them through the download_and_prepare function.

Thanks, I've released v0.5.1 with the fix.
Regarding the changes to the download_and_prepare, I agree it could be improved. I am however now in the middle of implementing the MIST 2.5 isochrones and smoother interpolation here

Also regarding separate download you can use
minimint.prepare(path, path, filters=['a','b'])
if you have already downloaded and unpacked files in the folder 'path'
