I can imagine a world in which an up to date kssl integrated with a modern NCA wired together with ilb could perform magic. But none of those pieces have kept up with the world outside.

PortunusD talks a big game (probably too big) about doing those kinds of things in userspace. Would be neat to decorate the README with some of this context, a) out of respect and b) to show there is precedent in illumos for the kinds of applications that PortunusD envisions serving.
