Hallo, Nice to meet you! 😁🙏
First of all, thank you for creating and maintaining this library!
I am using an ESP32-S3 paired with an INMP441 I2S microphone to stream live audio to VLC Media Player on Windows. The board connects to Wi-Fi successfully and port 8554 is open and reachable (verified via TCP test).
However, when attempting to open the stream in VLC using rtsp://<ESP32_IP>:8554/ (or /mjpeg/1), VLC fails to negotiate the connection with the following debug messages (Verbosity 2):
Plaintext
live555 error: Failed to connect with rtsp://10.226.112.153:8554/
satip error: read error: No error
satip error: Failed to setup RTSP session
Technical context & behavior:
TCP Connection: The ESP32 successfully accepts incoming TCP sockets on port 8554.
Handshake Failure: The server disconnects/refuses the connection immediately when VLC sends RTSP DESCRIBE / SETUP requests for the audio track.
Configuration: The server is initialized using rtspServer.init(RTSPServer::AUDIO_ONLY, 8554, 16000);.
It seems VLC requires specific SDP (Session Description Protocol) headers or transport parameters for pure PCM/RTP audio streams that might be missing or causing a socket drop in the current AUDIO_ONLY implementation.
Is there a specific stream URI, SDP configuration, or setting required for VLC audio playback? Any guidance or patch for VLC audio-only compatibility would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
