I'm new to Python so please forgive me for any simple errors, but I'm using spacy-3.1.7 and python 3.12.2 on Windows 64bit. I have successfully installed Spacy and was able to run it without a problem, but I run into this error when trying to install coreferee. I can post more error logs if needed.

It's hard to say looking at the log what the problem might be. Have you tried working in a fresh virtual environment (see https://spacy.io/usage for an example)? Failing that, the problem appears to be with thinc rather than coreferee, so you could always try raising an issue there.

Hey @KegenGuyll I ran into the same error with thinc and resolved it with the following commands. It only worked with Python 3.10 for me.

python3.10 -m  .venv
source .venv/bin/activate

pip install -U pip setuptools wheel
pip install -U 'spacy[apple]'
pip install "numpy<2.0" "spacy==3.5.*" "coreferee==1.4.*"

I think the coreferee just doesn't work with python 3.12.
it works on python 3.11
