I've made a DIY midi controller with a 7" touch screen, 8 foot switches, 4 - 10k pots and an encoder with push button. the case is 3d printed. It uses an esp32 s3 dev board for all the controls and midi. The rpi5 is mounted inside as well with a small exaust fan in the back. Im using a focusrite solo gen 4 audio interface that's external. pipedal is set for 48000 64x3.
I decided to try using ChatGPT to make a new UI frontend for pipedal that more closely resembles a store bought multi effects processor like a Neural DSP Quad Cortex that works well on the 7" touch screen. This is what i have so far and i haven't written a single line of code, its all done by A.I . It seems to work well but I haven't done too much testing so im sure there are some bugs. It will work without the DIY midi controller on any touch screen device like a tablet or even just with a mouse on your pc, but it might not work too well on a small phone screen. There is an option to switch back to the original pipedal ui in the settings as well as remove it and install it with a script. pleas check it out and give me your opinions.
This does not replace pipedals ui. It is all in addition as a second ui choice. there is only one modification to a pipedal file that allows the switching back and forth between the two ui's the rest of the code is all separated to keep pipedals original functionality intact.
ssh into your Rpi
this script will let you install the latest pipedal, pi-multifx or both at the same time. It also can setup the 7" hdmi touchscreen connected your rpi5 with an onscreen keyboard in full screen mode.
i wouldn't do this to your main setup because like i said i haven't done too much testing and it could break something most likely mess up your presets. I don't think it will, but it could so don't say i didn't warn you. backup first! the script should also let you remove it and go back to the original pipedal.
if you find any bugs you can post them here https://github.com/MegaNoob75/PiPedal-MultiFX/discussions/categories/bugs
Pleas leave a detailed description of the bug and how to recreate it. There is also a discussion for ideas.
I'm not a programmer and this is 100% A.I all i did is prompt it as to what i want and what to fix.
