Just wanted to revive this issue since it is closed. I had the same issue and was wondering if there is any way to implement a check on this lib libxcrypt-compat in msfupdate.erb since it seems essential.
I can't help with a pull request because I'm not very skilled in coding yet, but I hope the project keeps getting better and better. Anyway, great work!
