track removal of SearchBuilder#except, range limit failing on current blacklight unreleased edge

SearchBuilder#except removed in Blacklight main branch edge, caused our CI on Blacklight unreleased edge to fail. https://github.com/projectblacklight/blacklight_range_limit/actions/runs/19056509905/job/54427744317

There are some other persons/people who also would like that API returned, so let's see how it shakes out before figuring out how to fix blacklight_range_limit?

Haven't quite wrapped my head around how we'd fix to do without them, without using Blacklight private API. It seems kind of necessary? Not sure exactly what. is going on here tbh.

#325 would do away with using #except and #append in favor of a SearchBuilder class for this request.
