Config flow is broken. entities can no longer be set up in the GUI

As indicated by earlier deprecation warnings, the 2025.12 release is now 2 days away. The beta indeed shows the config flow is broken: error 500, the server got itself in trouble when trying to edit existing entities or add new ones.

As there wasn't much movement on this, I created a template sensor blueprint t mimic most of the functionality:

There is a new fork, https://github.com/Kilmanagh/HACS.Anniversaries which I havent tested myself, but might be a bit better, since it does appear that this project has been abandoned.

I got that too.. there is no anniversary.zip as you can see.

I was not able to raise a ticket against that repo, but a raised one against another repo of theirs.

I figure they must care about their integration as it is being worked on.

They just might not know...

You can download the files from GitHub and install it manually, I have done it. The only drawback is that it doesn't let you rename the entities, but at the moment it works fine.

I asked ChatGPT to fix the integration, and now I can edit the entries again!
In config_flow.py, just find self.config_entry = config_entry and replace with self._config_entry = config_entry

You need to restart the integration afterwards (I restarted HA).

Has anyone taken a look at https://github.com/moerk-o/WhenHub as a replacement?

It looks like it has a similar goal to what Anniversaries was trying to do.

EDIT: Meh nevermind I went back to Anniversaries for now. I did recreate the popular notification automation template but I could not get a WhenHub auto-entities card setup that I was happy with. :(

Edit 2: Actually I was able to get an auto-entities card working the way I wanted so giving WhenHub a second look.

I tried WhenHub but I think everything needs to be set-up by clicking through the UI for every event, which is painful for birthdays. I think it also creates lots of entities for each anniversary and doesn't have the calendar.

Unless I missed something. I only looked at it quickly.

This works, I just did it, there is two places in the file you need to make the change.
