Any chance of porting firepath to the new built in tools for Firefox? I appreciate this is a big ask.

I started working on a new version of FirePath which should work with the new built in tool.
It might take a while since I almost have to restart from scratch and I don't have as much time I did when I first created it.
It is hard to tell when I will be done but I'm hoping to have a new version available before the current version becomes unusable in Firefox.
On the plus side, Firefox now uses the same Extension API as Chrome so once I'm done it should be fairly easy for me to make this new version of FirePath available in Chrome.

I cannot find firepath on the latest firefox (51.0.1) any more.
I use firepath a lot. I love it!

• about:config (extensions.firebug.noMultiprocessMessage=false)
• Enable old firebug and disable e10s
• Restart firefox

Firepath is back again!

I'm having issues with suggested workaround, still not getting firepath, every combination always redirects me on firebug/firefox hybrid monster.
I'm using version 51.0.1, can anyone confirm that this works on v51.0.1?

Try the following:

• uninstall Firebug
• restart Firefox
• disable multiprocess (looks like it can be done by setting browser.tabs.remote.autostart or/and browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2 to false in about:config)
• restart Firefox again
• Make sure multiprocess is disable (look for Multiprocess Windows in about:support)
  • if it is disabled, install Firebug and hopefully it should work now

Setting browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2 on false did a trick.

@seblatre the search bar in the new firefox inspector lets you search using CSS Selectors, which can help.

Here is the replacement for Firepath. ChroPath which gives unique relative xpath, absolute xpath and css selectors. It opens in devtools and can be use a selectors editor.
