Can't install on ubuntu 26.04 with flatpak because of gnome 48 dependency

I can't install PiecesOS on an ubuntu computer because flatpak install tells me that gnome 48 cannot be found.

error: The application com.pieces.os/x86_64/stable requires the runtime org.gnome.Platform/x86_64/48 which was not found

can you update de dendendency to Gnome 49 or 50 ?

Thanks for letting us know!

GNOME 48 isn't actually missing from Flathub, so this should be fixable on your end right now.

What's happening is a Flatpak install-scope mismatch, and it's our docs' fault.

Our instructions add Flathub system-wide (step 1, no --user) but add the Pieces repo with --user (step 2).

Flatpak won't pull a runtime across scopes, so the per-user install of com.pieces.os can't see the system-wide GNOME runtime.

Adding Flathub in the same scope as the Pieces repo should fix it:
flatpak remote-add --user --if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo
flatpak install --user -y pieces-flatpak com.pieces.os com.pieces.pfd

One question so we correct the docs properly: when you ran step 1, did it prompt you for a password and succeed?

Trying to confirm whether Flathub landed system-wide or wasn't added at all.

We do plan to move to a newer GNOME runtime, just not immediately as it needs some validation on our end first.
