They have different guarantees and need different APIs (topic streams can be causally ordered, acked and replayed, ephemeral not, later with encryption / spaces they'll differ even more) and it would make the GObject APIs similar to the p2panda and p2panda-ffi ones which helps with documentation and general communication.
