but you should follow the internet meta on this on and have a GitHub icon with a link to this repo, it is the first thing I looked for because sometimes I feel that GitHub repos describe the software better than corporate speak on websites.

Another reason is that this software/website is about adding badges onto GitHub, so doing an unambiguous link to GitHub is called for.. 😄

I like the idea. However, I plan to move the GitHub repo on 2026-06-17 from:

https://github.com/coreinfrastructure/best-practices-badge/

to:

https://github.com/ossf/best-practices-badge/

We plan to have forwarding links for everything. That said, let's do that stuff after we move to our new home.
