[BUG] No items after startup / logging-in

Environment Information

macOS Version: Sequoia 15.7.7 (24G720)
sol Version: 2.1.352 (didn't work in terminal, got it from settings)

Issue Description

For a while (3-5 minutes) after logging-in search doesn't work (no items are shown); after a couple of minutes it starts working.

Reproduction Steps

1. Log-in to user account
2. Immediatelly open up sol and type some search phrase

Expected Behavior

I should see the items

Actual Behavior

I have to wait for 3-5 minutes for the search to actually start working

Additional Context

Just a guess but it looks like each time users do cold log-in sol is re-indexing everything which takes a while. Maybe it could be cached and updated in the background so user could get the results immediatelly?

I only care about app-search and list of applications doesn't change all that much over time for me :)

no, this is not about indexing. This seems to be some deeper macOS issue where the system calls are not returning upon OS booting, not Sol's fault. When it happens on my machine it takes 20 - 30 secs, but I cannot reproduce it because it only happens on boot.

I guess one could work-around by saving the already existing list of apps instead of re-fetching them from scratch, but I'm too lazy to do this, I reboot my computer once a month, if someone cares enough, they should submit a PR.

Argh... darn you macOS! :)

I do have separate profiles (work/study/personal) and I switch between them quite reguarly so the issue is more noticeable in my case.

not really, just look at ui.store.tsx code for fetching the apps and then go down into native code. It's pretty straightforward, it just lists the contents of apps folders and what not. That's the path to fetch data.

For saving the list of stored apps you can just ask your LLM to take a look at the existing patterns for saving user data.
