Total events and events over 24 hours do not update with new events

After I sent an event, it showed up in the recent events block, however, the events this month and past 24 hours did not reflect my recent event.

Have gone through and rewritten the metrics from the ground up. Still a bit of tidying up to do but should be consistently better now
