Huge Battery Usage

What's going on here? 1 hour 30 minutes on Youtube uses less battery than 11 minutes using podverse with the screen locked?

hi sorry for the trouble. i'm afraid this may be deeper of an issue than i will have time to really dive into over the next two weeks
15% battery usage for 11 minutes of playback seems very unusually high though. we don't often receive reports of battery usage issues like that
was that from playing an audio file, or a video file?
Was it a podcast with lots of splits and/or streaming sats?
I've noticed if I turn off battery optimizations for Podverse it chews through my battery.
is battery optimization enabled?
one more question for the list...do you have UnifiedPush notifications enabled in Podverse?

@ghosty999 I'm really not sure what the issue is causing major battery usage, so I created two Github issues for us to investigate and try to identify which operations are draining battery the most. I will probably consolidate updates into these tickets instead of posting updates here in this discussion topic.
