I agree. Logo a is the most modern but c has a HEP-related addition.

We have also this version with the font in A but the style of C. Click on 👍 below for this message if you prefer D over C, 👎 if you prefer C over D. By default, we'll go with D.

Will there also be a square version of the logo? Usable for icons, for example.

Would you square it by putting "Key4" above "hep", or would you shorten "Key4hep" into "k4" or so? And in both cases keep the same 'explosion' on the right.

Nothing has been decided for a square version. For a favicon-like one I would only put the right thingy since the text is going to be unreadable anyway. Have a look at https://dd4hep.web.cern.ch/dd4hep/, at least on my screen I only see there is blue and a blurry white band in the middle. For abbreviations I only like "k4".
