GeoLibre v2.8.0 is here!

GeoLibre is a free and open-source, lightweight, cloud-native GIS platform for visualizing, exploring, and analyzing geospatial data. It runs everywhere you do, in the web browser, on the desktop, on mobile, and inside Jupyter notebooks, all while keeping your data local and private.

This release is about the map after you have made it: deciding what a viewer sees when they click a feature, narrowing a layer without writing an expression, and interactive image segmetation with SAM 3.

What's new in v2.8.0

• A popup and tooltip designer: choose the fields, labels, and formats a viewer sees on click and on hover.
• Quick filters on every vector layer: checkboxes for categories, a slider for numbers, a date range for timestamps. No expression required.
• The search box now searches your data, not just places, with hits grouped by layer.
• Composite score builder: normalize and weight numeric fields into a 0-100 suitability index, mapped and styled for you.
• Interactive SamGeo segmentation from a text prompt, points, a drawn box, or automatically.
• Cartographic blend modes per layer, so color over a hillshade keeps the relief readable.
• Per-layer capabilities: mark a layer read-only or not exportable, enforced on export as well as in the UI.
• Earth Engine and xarray layers in the Python API, plus @geolibre/core and @geolibre/map on npm.
• Basemap thumbnails, a configurable startup view, exportable GeoEditor sketches, and an agent skill for driving GeoLibre.
• A rewritten user guide with screenshots and a new Video Tutorials page.
