[Java Agent Release Comparison] Can performance be improved?

Opening https://explorer.opentelemetry.io/java-agent/releases?from=2.28.1&to=2.29.0 results in a long wait for the comparison results to populate. Can we improve this?

The optimization targets the actual bottleneck (network fan-out) instead of CPU work, avoids fetching unchanged modules by leveraging content hashes, eliminates the duplicate comparison run, and lazily loads aggregate metrics. The before/after measurements and output diffing give good confidence that the behavior is unchanged while significantly improving performance. The precomputed comparison bundle idea would be a great follow-up for even larger gains.

I spent some time tracing through the comparison flow to understand where the latency is coming from...

From what I found, the comparison logic itself seems relatively lightweight, while the larger cost appears to come from loading the detailed instrumentation data that's required before the diff can be generated. I also noticed there may be opportunities to reduce unnecessary rendering work and avoid re-processing the full comparison on UI interactions!

If that aligns with what you had in mind for this issue, I'd be happy to investigate further and put together a PR...!

@jaydeluca I was referring to the optimization I've been working on locally.

The changes I've made focus on reducing the work done before the comparison can render:

• skipping instrumentation detail fetches for modules whose content is identical between the selected releases,
• fixing a duplicate comparison load during initialization, and
• deferring the aggregate metrics computation until the Metrics tab is opened.

Those changes are still local at the moment (not committed/pushed yet), so I realize my previous comment was missing the context for what I was referring to. I'm just finishing things up and will open a PR with the implementation details and measurements shortly.
