I have searched the issue tracker and was unable to find an open or closed issue matching what I'm seeing.
(If the issue occurs AFTER or DURING Windows 9x's hardware detection phase) I have tried to install with Skip legacy non-PnP hardware detection phase to [OFF] and the issue still occurs.
(If the issue occurs AFTER or DURING Windows 9x's hardware detection phase) I have tried to install with the integrated driver library set to [OFF] and the issue still occurs.
I understand that support is provided voluntarily for free, and that the author is not Microsoft and can/will probably not fix bugs in the operating system code itself. I also understand that it is impossible to support every single hardware combination out there.
What happened?
Installation works perfectly fine. However, after first bootup, while W98 is detecting hardware, screen loses signal and keyboard freezes for some time. It remains without screen for a while then restarts. After restart, windows 98 goes straight to no signal after splash screen, with keyboard absolutely frozen. Only works in safe mode.
NVIDIA Quadro FX 3500, No soundcard yet (just the onboard)
Target Storage Devices
Lexar NQ100 240GB SATA SSD.
Boot method
USB key
Reference image
Windows 98 SE Micro
Additional context
This happens with all versions, worth mentioning that Windows ME shuts itself down a few seconds after splash screen appears. Not restart, just shutdown. Also works fine in safe mode
I'm not really new into this stuff, so I tried disabling ACPI from registry, from driver, from BIOS, disabled APM from device manager, installed the gpu drivers and also tried the logs from bootlog.txt, which only gave an Unknown device initialized before crashing.
