Internet connection issue when installing the unified autonomy stack

Hello,

I tried to install the unified autonomy stack according to https://ntnu-arl.github.io/unified_autonomy_stack/installation/

However, when running ./scripts/import_all_repos.sh # recursively clones all the repositories, the internet connection on my desk computer fails and stays broken for about 30min-1h. It seems to fail when importing ws_gbplanner.

I tried do adapt some cloning configuration by modifying the import_all_repos.sh script, but it didn't solve the issue.
I also got the exact same problem when trying on a different computer.

We are still trying to figure out the issue.

I just wanted to check if anyone alrready encountered this when installing the unified autonomy stack or if you'd have any tips or alternatives for installing it.

I have an update. I believe the issue comes from our department internet setup.
I was able to fix it by modifying the import_all_repos.sh to the following (see below).

The important difference is that it still uses vcs import, but it splits every .repos file into temporary one-repository .repos files, then runs vcs import --recursive --workers 1 ... one repository at a time, with a 10s sleep after each repo and another 10s sleep after each .repos file.

I share this in case anyone encounters the same issue.

I also wanted to mention that one of the repos is not public as git@github.com:ntnu-arl/helicopter_bridge.git is not accessible.

small final note : The provided import_all_repos_conservative.sh fails (=gives an error) when there are no repositories listed inside a .repos file. Therefore, it does fail for ws_ros1_bridge.repos and ws_ros1_launcher.repos which are empty. I therefore removed them from the repos folder. It should also be possible to modify import_all_repos_conservative.sh to not fail.
