What would you like to see added in fMRIPrep?
Do you have plans to upgrade FreeSurfer 7.3.2 to FreeSurfer 8?
I'm asking because FreeSurfer 8 looks like an improvement important enough for us to move to FreeSurfer 8 when processing large population imaging datasets. We can hardly run both versions because of the size of FreeSurfer derivatives (number of files in addition to number of bytes).
The derivatives of FreeSurfer 7 and 8 differ slightly. We know using FreeSurfer 8 derivatives in current fmriprep involves some hacks we'd rather avoid. Actually we'd rather freeze and use the main branch if it were to support FreeSurfer 8.
Do you know of any caveats when moving to FreeSurfer 8? Anything we could do to help transitioning to FreeSurfer 8?
