This project is no longer maintained

I'm sunsetting this project, since:

• the original creators/maintainers of this package (myself included) no longer us it, and haven't had the time to maintain it - as can be seen by the last commit on main being in 2021
• webpack-chain doesn't support webpack 5, and adding support would require a fair amount of effort (see Webpack 5 support #266, support webpack 5.x #297)
• the Node.js ecosystem now has many other options beside webpack for bundling (or even avoiding the need to bundle at all), making the future need for this package uncertain
• even if there was someone who wanted to take over maintenance of this package, it would be extremely risky to transfer it to someone I don't know, given that it still gets 800K downloads a week, so the impact of them uploading a malicious new version in the future would be high. If someone wants to continue maintaining a webpack-chain like package, they'll unfortunately need to fork the repo and publish under a new name on npmjs.org.

I already marked the webpack-chain package on npmjs.org as deprecated (by yanking it) on 18th December, and no one commented/appeared to notice.

I'll archive this repo in the next few days.
