Audience: Everyone who participates in the Nanny community, contributors, users, and maintainers.
Nanny is an infrastructure project. Its community should reflect the same properties as the software: predictable, honest, and focused.
Treat every participant with respect. This means:
- Be direct, not dismissive. Disagree with ideas, not people.
- Be precise. Vague criticism helps no one. If something is wrong, explain why and what a better approach looks like.
- Be patient with newcomers. Everyone started somewhere.
- Stay on topic. Discussions, issues, and PRs should stay focused on making nanny better.
- Personal attacks or insults directed at participants
- Sustained off-topic noise that degrades the signal quality of discussions
- Misrepresentation of others' words or positions
- Harassment of any kind, in any channel associated with this project
This applies in all project spaces: GitHub issues, pull requests, discussions, and any community channels officially linked from this repository.
Maintainers have the right and responsibility to remove, edit, or reject comments, commits, and other contributions that do not align with this standard. Repeat or severe violations may result in a temporary or permanent ban from the project.
If you witness or experience behaviour that violates this standard, report it privately to the maintainers at hello@nanny.run. Reports are handled confidentially. We will respond within 72 hours.
This Code of Conduct applies to the Nanny OSS project. It is not a legal document, it is a social contract between people who share a goal.
