Can't see text in the launcher!

Am on Steam Deck.

Tried setting up the recomp for the 1st time. When I boot up the launcher for the 1st time, this is what I get:

I can't read the text. How can I set up the recomp if there's no text?

Yes, SteamOS is another form of Linux. ArchLinux, I believe.

then i wish you luck to fix it you need to place in the right folders & rename all 841 files

Guess I'll just wait for the Linux Build. An test build of the very 1st X game is in the works.

if it is from mstan & it has a launcher you will get the same problems

Hello! Apologies for the delay on this. I've been spending some time pursuing a new launcher UI to replace the previous one in use. I just cut a new build. Not linux native yet; but I believe it should play nicer. Can you go ahead and give it a try and let me know if this is any better?

nope not better it has nothing todo with the launcher it has todo with path or the lack off
wine can not do a launch argument as a file name
so this is not a path assets\carts\blue.png but just a weird name

Hey folks! I released a new launcher recently that uses a different type of interface. For everyone having issues, can you please download the latest release and let me know if issues persist?

to work on wine those files need to be in folders not long weird names with /between parts of the file name

I landed a follow-up for the launcher path handling and bumped this repo to that recomp-ui revision in #6. The next build/release should include normalized asset paths for Wine/Linux plus the DPI handling update. Please retest once that build is available.

Can you provide me an exact environment that you use, @B-Nerd ? Much of my testing is done on WSL. But if you can give me distro / hardware, that can maybe help.

I aim to add first class Linux support later on, and current development is focused on Windows to try and ensure a healthy ecosystem before porting, but I can't promise I'll be able to land every flavor of Linux and Proton combinations at this stage.
