Broken dependencies after npm & web pack update

First of all, thank you for making this template. It is really helpful.

I realise that this repository hasn't been updated since 2 years, but would it be possible to update the dev-dependencies as there have been a lot of changes in web pack and its plugins.
After the recent npm update, I made a new project using package.json from this template but when I ran npm install, the installation did not complete.

It would mean a lot if you could update the dependencies as this template is linked in the documentation page of Barba.js
