Force initialise.R not to install source versions of packages

One of the installed packages had just been released and so students were asked whether to install the source package. Several chose 'yes', not knowing they couldn't because they didn't have RTools or the Xcode command-line tools.

There doesn't actually seem to be an easy way to do this, so park this for now.
