MacParakeet captures no audio when the input is my external Sound Blaster's Line In even though the interface itself is working and the system-level input meter shows signal.
The interface, cable, and signal path are fine: the same Line In source records cleanly in both MacWhisper and quickTime Player with the SoundBlaster selected, so this isn't a hardware or system-level input issue, it's specific to how MacParakeet is (no) reading the device.
