Error code 21

Hi!

I tried your ncw cli utility, but get this error when I have pointed to the input file and to the ouput directory:

Error: Os { code: 21, kind: IsADirectory, message: "Is a directory" }

and no file output. I'm not that experienced with code troubleshooting, could you help me out here?

I'm was having the same issue. I finally figured out. I think instructions are not clear. You will need to put the name of the wav file in the output path.

Example:
/Users/Your_User_Here/.cargo/bin/ncw-convert /Users/Your_User_Here/Downloads/PianoInstrument/Samples/A4_Velocity127.ncw /Users/Your_User_Here/Downloads/PianoInstrument/Samples/Wav/A4_Velocity127.wav

In this case I created a folder called "Wav" to organize the wav files. It is a tedious task running the command each time for each ncw file. It would be very nice to process all the folder and have an output folder to all of the library.

I found a way to batch convert using google sheet. I use the CONCATENATE and SUBSTITUE functions or formulas to get google sheet to write for me.

Then you can run the same command, ncw-convert, in the same line using " ; " to separate each file you convert. You need to concatenate it at the end of each sample. Lastly, you concatenate everything in one big line. Paste it and run it.

Example:
/Users/Your_User_Here/.cargo/bin/ncw-convert /Users/Your_User_Here/Downloads/PianoInstrument/Samples/sample01.ncw /Users/Your_User_Here/Downloads/PianoInstrument/Samples/Wav/sample01.wav ; /Users/Your_User_Here/.cargo/bin/ncw-convert /Users/Your_User_Here/Downloads/PianoInstrument/Samples/Sample02.ncw /Users/Your_User_Here/Downloads/PianoInstrument/Samples/Wav/Sample02.wav

I'm getting some file with a error message that says "Error: TooWide". I tried to import those file and got error in my DAW. But the majority of files got convert instantly. I tried to convert those "TooWide" samples separately in their own command line but got the same error. In my example I got 90 files converted but 9 files with this error.

At the begging I thougt this error was related to the lenght of the name of the file. But after changing their names to shorter ones the message error was the same: TooWide. I believe this error has to be with the size of the waveform.
