When using one of the default unpaid APIs (i.e. Google), the provider will return an error after a few minutes of use. The current behavior of the app is to disable that provider and fall back to the local AI model. This is resolved by restarting the app.

It would be helpful if there was a button in the settings to re-initialize the disabled provider, obtaining a new API token. The delay from opening the settings should be sufficient to satisfy the rate limits of the unpaid providers while avoiding an excessively long delay that could make a conversation awkward and annoying.

Hi @HenBian — understood, and this is a reasonable recovery path. To be precise about naming: VRCT doesn't hold a refreshable OAuth token for the free engines; on failure it marks the online engine unavailable and falls back to CTranslate2 until restart. So the ask is really a "re-test / re-enable online translation engines" button.

It's on the backlog. Implementation isn't trivial — the engine health-check currently lives inside init() and needs to be factored out into a callable method + a new endpoint + cooldown + UI. Grouping it with #91's error classification (so retry targets/wait times are sensible). Keeping open.
