Constant requests to sign-in

After the latest update to the extension which was 3 hours ago from now, the extension keeps nagging about authentication multiple times, perhaps once a minute or once a few minutes.

• Extension version: 0.148.0
• VSCode Version: 1.123.2
• OS: Windows 11

That would explain this sudden exacerbation, but over the last week or so this has been popping up a lot (a few times a day, not this once-a-minute). These credentials don't expire that often.

Worse, it pops up in every window, as a modal (stopping what I'm typing) and bounces the dock icon if I'm in a different app - all super annoying when screen sharing and doing a demo. These all are against VSCode's design language or non-interrupting and modeless. Of course, that's assuming it only happens when it's really necessary (at most once a day, and application-wide).

Me too! Just started today.

My whole team is affected by this issue. All on Mac. I have tried:

• Signing out and back in
• Restarting VSC
• Updating VSC
• Logging in to Github.com directly (success)
• Updating authentication in my user

VSC is unable to retain credentials
