Hey everyone! Today I come with some exciting news.
First of all, MetalSharp is going to be getting it's very first Linux distribution. This is being fully moderated by Nicholai, a friend of mine who is very knowledgable about code, and uses Linux himself. He has already confirmed Hudini working as of this morning, and is extending to more applications such as the Adobe Suite. Please welcome his work with open arms!
Second, I just want to go over some of the current updates that are in progress for MetalSharp MacOS.
Wine is currently being updated to Wine 11.17, in partnership with WineForge with some MetalSharp only additions. This will keep the x86_64 runtime intact while updating it and changing d3dmetal to an internal schema so steam can connect.
Arm64FEX wine is still in progress! Please be patient with me as these changes are developing as it is quite difficult to do correctly.
D3D12 DXMT work is completing. I am finishing the current design; This will re-open m12 once completed. This will take much longer than anything else being added as a feature.
We can probably expect to Rockstar Games to work now since WineForge has additional fixes for it to load. This is great news for the infrastructure overall as it allows more games like GTA V and Read Dead Redemption to run.
See you all in the next update!
Plus, see some recent PR's from Timothy Darcet: He recently got VKD3D-Proton d3d12 with our custom MoltenVK running Elden Ring. Thanks Tim!
