[Audit + Update] Attributes, Valid Values, Descriptions

Emerges from discussion with Orion and Jineta on 2026.03.13: Desire to perform an audit of our attributes, their valid values, and descriptions, and plan for an update on these to tidy / correct descriptions and ontologies, as well as consider / incorporate synonyms.

Anticipated to be of immediate direct value because:

• We are actually overdue to do this
• This would help with ongoing portal search improvement efforts re: synonyms
• This will help with incorporation / usage of portal co-pilot
• This will help with interests in knowledge graphs
• This helps strengthen and update the model, in parallel with the ongoing mapping efforts

Consider this a must do for Y4, with an initial focus / priority on imaging and multi-modal data in the non-human space. Aim to showcase for Y4 site visit and demonstrate how these improvements can optimize discovery (maybe revisit Synapse-hosted datasets from the data sharing pilots - lsm zebrafish, and spatial data to include in demo)

2026-07-01: Update from Orion: GPT did not prove great at this. Have since been leverage Claude Skills for ontology and CDE lookup. Expect outputs to get us to a place where we can make decisions on potential changes to attributes. The latest administrative supplement, if funded, will also guide / be impacted by these efforts, but, at minimum, this will be helpful with tidying basic components (e.g. attribute descriptions) with our data model. Expect to continue working on this through 26-7/8 sprint, with sufficient information available to guide decision-making and next steps in 26-9 sprint (should also align with yes/no on supplement).

Seeing this as an important early Year 5 tidy, likely followed by a later Year 5 effort to tidy / transition the data model.

26-7/8 - Would be good to have a group review. This can be independent of the current release (not a blocker). Includes major documentation update, for review after Sage Week, followed by another subsequent release
