Blank space on the left side of the post would be nice to be gone

Every post has a blank space on the left side of it. I think it's pointless and it's wasted space. Would be possible to have an option to remove it? I'm talking about this:

It's so you have somewhere to tap to open the post when it only contains media attachments.

Can't I just tap on the space between the star and the dots? 99% of media posts have text too though.

Yes, but that's not obvious for everyone. Before we did that, people were unhappy that it's too hard to open such posts. That space is also used for reply thread lines when you do open a post.

Besides, it's just an extremely common pattern among microblogging apps, every other app does it.
