I got same issue.

Using application password, but no prompt for 2FA on any apple device

Two-step authentication required.

same here, try a complete new installation but with the same results

1. Put your iPhone in Plane Mode.
2. Go to Settings App
3. Tap on your name at the top of the Settings app
4. Tap Login and Security
5. Tap Get a verification code
6. Use it :)

I have this issue as well and the workaround worked for me once I also disabled WLAN. Plane mode was not enough.
