Chimera Module - Future Enhancements

Scope

  • hardening and refinement of adapter lifecycle and dispatch behavior
  • expansion of deterministic reliability for simulation-vs-engine paths
  • stricter benchmark-backed guardrails for adapter compatibility hot paths

Design Constraints

  • adapter contracts remain backward compatible within major release line.
  • capability declarations remain consistent with observable runtime behavior.
  • unsupported dispatch states remain explicit and non-silent.
  • simulation and engine-backed semantics remain auditable.

Required Interfaces

Interface Requirement
adapter lifecycle interfaces deterministic connect/disconnect/state semantics
dispatch interfaces bounded behavior across simulation and engine-backed paths
capability interfaces accurate and stable feature reporting

Implementation Notes

  • tighten parity and diagnostics between simulation and engine-backed dispatch.
  • standardize error classes for connection, capability, and dispatch failures.
  • expand resilience tests for engine-injection and fallback permutations.
  • add dedicated chimera adapter benchmarks beyond current proxy compatibility paths.

Test Strategy

  • unit and focused integration suites for adapter lifecycle and dispatch paths.
  • edge regressions for unsupported and conditional engine-backed behavior.
  • deterministic tests for capability/reporting consistency.
  • release-profile benchmark runs for mapped adapter targets.

Performance Targets

  • adapter parse/build/roundtrip compatibility paths remain within regression budgets.
  • adapter hot paths remain stable at p95/p99 versus baseline.
  • benchmark manifests for mapped chimera targets reach no-missing-case status.

Security / Reliability

  • maintain strict connection-state and dispatch precondition checks.
  • preserve explicit failure signaling for unsupported paths.
  • enforce bounded process-local adapter runtime behavior.
  • keep diagnostics actionable for adapter integration incidents.
