Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Coming from AutoPkgr, one feature we currently miss in AutoPkg Wizard is automatic notifications after scheduled runs. Ideally, these notifications would be sent by email and contain a brief summary of the run.
This would make it easier to share run results with multiple team members, including those who do not have access to the account running the recipes.
Describe the solution you'd like
It would be helpful if AutoPkg Wizard could send a notification after each scheduled run. Email would be the preferred notification method, but other notification channels could also be useful.
Most importantly errors and failures should be included, additional informations (imports to Munki, new downloads etc) could also be useful.
Describe alternatives you've considered
- Creating a LaunchAgent that parses the AutoPkg log file and sends notifications.
- Forwarding logs to a centralized logging solution so multiple team members can review them.
- Checking the AutoPkg Wizard logs manually.
Additional context
This request is similar to the Notifications feature available in AutoPkgr. Summaries there include:
- downloaded software
- available updates (for e.g. munki)
- failures
- errors
- Downloaded items
- build packages
- items imported into munki
