Game creator is always put first if they leave the re-join.

If a game creator leaves the game, then rejoins as a specific color, they are set as the first color available when the game starts.

What Happened:

I created a horde game.
I left the game.
I rejoined as black.
Kyle joined as white.
Kyle started the game.
I was set to white and kyle to black.

I think the bug is more general than this. The old code that scrambles all players when a game starts was prior to the feature that allowed you to join as a specific color and I do not think it was updated.

the code should scramble only players that do not have a color assigned already instead
