Bug description

Screen content shown right after wake-up from sleep for a fraction of a sec. Happens randomly.
I use the following sleep triggers:

• lid close
• hotkey mapped to suspend
• timeout suspend

The issue happens with the first two doesn't matter what are the screensaver settings.
The timeout suspend has been working for me (yet!) fine if I explicitly separate events like:

• delay before locking - any (screensaver settings)
• delay before starting screensaver: 5 min (screensaver settings)
• suspend when inactive for: 10 min (power management settings)

If I set up screensaver delay to never then the issue starts happening again.

I thought that this behaviour has been comprehensively discussed in the blog post for February 2026 and recently announced as fixed in 6.6.4 of cinnamon-settings-daemon.

So I was thinking, am I having a different issue with the same symptoms? or is my system corrupted somehow and the 6.6.4 package version didn't fix it?

I'm happy to provide any other required information!

Steps to reproduce

1. perform laptop lid sleep
2. wake up laptop
3. observe the behaviour

Expected behavior

I was hoping that 6.6.4 will finally resolve the issue that has been hunting me for years.

Instead of currently:

The issue persists with up to date system as of the date of creating this issue ticket.
