Feature Request: Keep Pins Separate from Running Applications with Labels

Currently I have to sort through window labels in order to launch an application that is not running.

It would be more convenient to keep pins without any open windows on either the right or left side of the window list instance:

This way I do not have to manually reorganize the list every time I open a new application.

I can see why you would want a feature like that, but it does kind of defeat one of the main purposes of pinning, that the order of the pinned buttons does change.

I would suggest that you might want to change the Labels->"Display labels for pinned buttons" to Never. This way the location of the pinned buttons will never move relative to the start of the window-list (because the labels will not change the size of any pinned buttons). You generally don't need labels for pinned buttons since they are generally used a lot.

Still, I am willing to hear you out if this solution is not one that works for you?

Thank you for the speedy response. I did not select that option because then I cannot see the window titles of my most used applications, which defeats the purpose of a window list for me. Then, I cannot view the specific function of a window I have open at a glance. I am unaware of a way to continually keep my main apps on the panel without pinning them. I prefer keeping pins separated because it is convenient for me to look to the right side of the panel whenever I need to open something new. However, this is not urgent. I could use key bindings to launch my applications, but my personal preference is to use a gui.

OK.. I'll take a look at how I can implement what you are asking for without adding too much complexity to the code. It might be a few months before I get to it, summer is really busy. Thanks for taking the time to make the suggestion.
