CWL freezes Cinnamon for some time after login or after removing and adding the applet

Again, thank you for your work.

As of the cinnamon upgrade to the version 6.4, CWL started freezing the whole interface whenever I login or remove + add the applet. Other than that, it works as usual, but in these conditions the problem happens. Any ideia of what it might be originating it?

I tried reinstalling CWL, either by removing it and getting it from the Applets download tab or by downloading the ZIP directly from github,

Thanks for reporting the issue. I'll see if I can recreate the problem here on my Fedora Cinnamon 6.4 or a Mint 22.1 VM.

Does ~/.xsession-errors have a bunch of message like this when the freeze occurs?

After restarting and checking xsession-errors, which showed CWL starting in about 401ms (which was already better), I just removed CWL from the bar and, when added after restarting, it started behaving normally. However, I did not import the settings and started from scratch to avoid possible problems.
Sorry for the probable misreporting.

Nonetheless, I checked xsession-errors again and there was no JSAPI error or any other error or warning in CWL, and it started in 52ms. The Applet Manager, for example, is taking about 600ms.

So far I have not been able to recreate the issue in a Mint 22.1 VM, but I have seen issues during Cinnamon restart on my Fedora Cinnamon Spin laptop. I was unable to conclusively pin it to Cassia. My Fedora Cinnamon Spin desktop does not show any issues and it's running the same Cinnamon version as my laptop.

It's possible that there is some issues with some of the APIs that Cassia is using, see here: linuxmint/cinnamon-spices-applets#6866
