Scrolling of graphical landing pages broken in Restricted mode

First reported downstream in kiwix/kiwix-js-pwa#475, the graphical landing page of recent ZIMs does not scroll when loaded with jQuery mode. This issue is serious because it also affects the libzim branch of this Repo in ServiceWorker mode, suggesting that it's a wider issue than just the lack of JS support in jQuery mode.

These graphical landing pages are very troublesome. They render extremely poorly on Android (extremely slow outside of the OPFS implementation), and also break the WebP polyfill due to overloading the Emscripten engine and filling up the memory.

@charanbhatia This is a "medium-level" PR. If you would describe yourself as a beginner, it's probably not viable, as it would require working at quite a low level with CSS and JS. Also it is tricky because to make it work we'd probably have to alter the contents coming from the ZIM on-the-fly, and that's something we normally don't do on principle. So it would need to be done in a minimally invasive way, considering it is for Restricted mode only.

Hi, my name is Ayush, and I’m from India. I’ve explored the Kiwix JS repository and read through the contribution guidelines. I’m really fascinated by the idea of bringing web resources offline using ZIM archives, making knowledge accessible even without internet connectivity.

I’ve gone through the reported issue regarding the graphical landing page of recent ZIMs not scrolling properly in jQuery mode, as well as its impact on the ServiceWorker mode. From what I’ve understood, this issue seems to be caused by improper resource caching and memory management, especially on media-heavy landing pages. Additionally, the Emscripten engine might be overloaded with too many tasks, leading to slow performance and breakage of the WebP polyfill.

I am ready to work on this problem and help resolve it by optimizing the service worker’s caching strategy, implementing lazy loading for heavy resources, and improving memory management to ensure better performance across different devices, especially on Android. I’m excited to contribute and help enhance Kiwix’s functionality.
