No /dev/snd/midiC0D* device

Great writeup !
But I can't find /dev/snd/midiC0D* in the normal Ubuntu system , to reproduce the issue do I have to change CONFIG_SND_RAWMIDI=m to CONFIG_SND_RAWMIDI=y? or some other operation should I do?

Using the default Linux kernel configuration, I executed after startup modprobe snd-rawmidi to enable the module and then i run sudo modprobe snd-virmidi which is going to enable many virtual devices. in my case I used the /dev/snd/midiC1D1. Hope that helps!
