problem with empty passwords

We have a guest user with an empty password on our server.
Seems like I cannot use it, as IcingaStatus always complains "Your username or password is probably wrong. Fix it in options.."

I noticed that leaving the password field has the meaning of not changing the password.
Then how do I enter a blank password?

Can you send me address of your icinga installation with this guest access? I'm not sure if password less login will work but I can try.

unfortunately i cant, as that installation is reachable via the intranet of
my company only.
it should be really easy to reproduce though:
just use htpasswd to add a user with an empty password to your test icinga
(when asked for a password just press enter)
(or use this line, i just generated for user foo:
foo:$apr1$wW/daWQH$aT4MXyHBoMhO4oSifKEr7/
