reactablefmtr has issues and is currently unmaintained

Although the package is on CRAN and was downloaded 7K times in the last month (as of 23 oct 2025) , it is no longer maintained (this was confirmed to me by the author per e-mail) and is currently not working properly on recent R versions such as R 4.5.1.

I have asked the author if he is open to transferring maintenance, or archiving the package from CRAN.
I have not received a response yet.

Leaving this here for others, it took me a while to figure out the status of this package.

Hello, is there any other alternatives to this package? Since I got to know it recently and my project uses this package, I would like to know what to do without support for this package.

@harishnkr Note that the license of this package (or most packages on CRAN) do not have support: all are distributed "AS IS".

You can continue using it. If you have it installed it will keep working if you don't and want to install it, you can do so from the archive on CRAN or from here. If you are developing a package that want to release on CRAN or Bioconductor you won't be able to depend on it (but can still use it as suggested if I remember correctly).
