American Mcgee's Alice not playing reverb (remastered edition)

The remaster technically allows EAX 2 support but it doesn't detect reverb when in-game. I don't know if this is an issue for the original release or not.

I'm leaning towards this being an issue with the remaster, as when testing out Heavy Metal FAKK 2 which uses the same version of Id tech 3 as Alice, the game detects reverb. (After testing out the original version I can confirm that this issue is also present in the original as well.)

None of these seem to help, this might be like Baulders Gate 2 where it requires VXD drivers for certain effects.
